Youth Courses
Lead CPR offers Canadian Red Cross Babysitting and Stay Safe! programs to schools, youth community groups, and private groups of any size.
Our Canadian Red Cross certified Youth Leaders bring these programs to life with exciting activities, scenarios and games that prepare youth to begin to stay home alone for short periods, as well as starting to take care of other children.

BABYSITTING
Canadian Red Cross Course
Ages 11-15

Offers basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 11-15 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. The course also offers youth the skills to promote themselves as babysitters to prospective families.
The Babysitting course, refreshed and revised, now has a greater emphasis on First Aid skills. The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting course covers everything from managing difficult behaviours to essential content on leadership and professional conduct as a babysitter. Babysitting promises to deepen and enhance the responsibility that older youth feel when caring for younger children. This updated curriculum, complete with new science, also provides improved learning when it comes to giving the appropriate care in the event of an emergency.
STAY SAFE!
Canadian Red Cross Course
Ages 9-13

Offers basic first aid and safety skills for youth 9-13 years old. Participants learn about being safe when they are without the direct supervision of a parent, guardian, or trusted adult, both at home and in their communities.
Real-world scenarios often call on children to respond to challenges. The Stay Safe! program teaches applicable and age-appropriate skills, while increasing and reinforcing a youth’s capacity to improve his or her own safety. Whether in their community or on their own, this group will be given better tools to Stay Safe! in a variety of different situations.
